The Juneteenth Pilgrimage

We return to our roots with this year’s Juneteenth Pilgrimage walking tour. Feel free to walk or drive to each location to celebrate freedom with our family. This year’s itinerary includes our standard walk from the Menard House, to Avenue L Baptist Church, Ashton Villa, and the Rosewood Cemetary.

Included in this year’s pilgrimage is a outing to the Rosenberg Public Library, the oldest public library in Texas, where our family is on display in the “Weathering the Storm: Life for Black Galvestonians in 1900 and Beyond.”

Afterward, we will celebrate our freedom with lunch in a location to be determined based on the number of RSVPs. Although we will gather together, lunch is on your own.
